Level One

Scamper
This Gift makes a fleeing Bone Gnawer much harder to hit. A rat-spirit teaches this Gift.

Cost: 1 Gnosis

Test Pool: None

System:
Once a Bone Gnawer decides to flee from the battle, nothing can stop their hasty retreat. When declaring fair escape, the player may activate this Gift . While this Gift is active the character gains +4 on all physical defense tests, this bonus lasts so long as the character only either moves or attempts fair escape. If the Bone Gnawer changes her mind and stays in place, turns to fight, or returns to the fray in the same scene, the Gift ends and she immediately loses all remaining Rage and Gnosis.

Affinity:
Once per session, a Bone Gnawer may use this Gift to immediately declare fair escape from any scene, and provided they are not actively grappled they immediately escape.

Scent of Sweet Honey
A target the Garou touched at some point during the last hour begins to exude a wonderfully sweet aroma, and becomes slightly sticky to the touch. All manner of vermin quickly appear and coat the victim. The resulting coat of gnats, flies, bees and beetles crawls, stings, and generally impairs vision and hearing. Insect-spirits teach this Gift.

Cost: 1 Gnosis

Test Pool: Wits + Subterfuge versus target's Resolve + Composure

System:
Spend a standard action to activate this Gift. Designate a person that the Garou has touched within the last hour and engage them in a contested challenge using this Gift's test pool. If successful, the target suffers a –1 penalty to all non-defensive actions for 1 hour due to the distraction of the various stinging swarms. They do no serious damage (unless the target happens to be allergic), but the smell will not wash off during this time. Further, the victim may suffer other roleplay penalties as they are actively covered by vermin for the duration of this Gift.

Exceptional Success:
The sweet scent is especially persistent. Rather than lasting just an hour, the scent will last for the rest of the session.

Affinity:
The stinging swarms called by the Bone Gnawers can be especially large and distracting, as such the penalty to all non-defensive actions increases to -3.

Trash is Treasure
The refuse of humanity provides all the canny Bone Gnawer needs. Through the use of this Gift, any broken object can be temporarily restored to full functionality and usefulness. A Marten-spirit teaches this Gift.

Cost: 1 Willpower

Test Pool: N/A

System:
The player takes hold of a broken object and spends a simple action to activate the Gift. The object functions perfectly for one turn per dot of the crafts ability the character has — a dull knife cuts, a bow with a broken string finds it has just enough to restrung and fired, a ruined wagon rolls even if all of it's wheels are busted. The lifespan of the object’s renewed usefulness can be extended to one full day by spending an additional point of Willpower.

Affinity:
Objects repaired with this Gift supply their own ammunition or power. A bow repaired by this Gift supplies its own ammunition, a wagon repaired just happens to roll on its own without any horses.

Bone Gnawer Level Two Gifts

Level Two

Blissful Ignorance
The Garou can become completely invisible to all senses, spirits or monitoring devices by remaining still. A chameleon-spirit teaches this Gift.

Cost: 1 Gnosis

Test Pool: N/A

System:
Spend a simple action to become completely invisible from all individuals not currently looking at you. While this power is active, you remain invisible so long as you do not make any loud noises, engage in any opposed challenges, speak, interact with the environment, or move. While invisible, please hold a hand across your chest to indicate to all observers that they cannot see you. If someone uses a power, such a Wolf Senses, to try and notice you, they must make an opposed challenge with you, you may either use the defensive pool given by that power - or you may choose to use Wits + Stealth (your choice).

Affinity:
You may speak in a soft whisper while cloaked under this power without breaking it's effect. Further, you may interact with unattended objects without breaking it's effect (e.g. opening a door would be fine, but if someone was even lightly leaning against the door you could not open it without ending this effect). Lastly, you may move, albeit very slowly: outside of combat, make an effort to move slowly and deliberately,; in combat you may only take one step a turn. Taking additional steps on other Rage rounds breaks this effect.

Cornered Rat
When backed into a corner with nowhere to run, there are only two options — beg for mercy or turn and fight. Rat-spirits teach Bone Gnawers to excel at the latter.

Cost: 1 Rage

Test Pool: N/A

System:
Spend a simple action to activate this Gift, which lasts for 10 minutes, or until the danger you were defending against has been defeated or retreated. While active, you gain a bonus equal to your Rank on all physical challenges. This Gift sends the Bone Gnawer into an automatic and unavoidable berserk frenzy; any magic that stops the frenzy also ends the Gift.

Affinity:
Once you have set your mind to fighting for your life, almost nothing can change it. In addition to the above you also gain a bonus equal to half your Rank (round up) to resist any Mental or Social powers. You must use this bonus to resist any power you are allowed to resist and cannot choose to relent to such powers even if they are from allies.

Stone of Athos
Commonly known as "I Got a Rock" by younger Bone Gnawers. Anything you can throw as a weapon becomes deadlier. Whatever the Garou is throwing becomes accurate and deadlier. Many 'more traditional' Bone Gnawers will prepare a stone or two for this Gift by carving ΔΕΞΑΙ (Dexai, lit. "Catch") into the stone. This Gift is taught by an air-spirit

Cost: 1 Rage

Test Pool: N/A

System:
Spend a simple action to activate this Gift. For the next 10 minutes, all melee weapons you wield gain the balanced tag and you gain a +2 on all thrown attacks. Further, you deal an additional point of damage when making thrown attacks. While the name of this Gift does mention stones, you can use this with any thrown weapon.

Thrown attacks deal base 3 damage, 4 on an exceptional.

Affinity:
You are exceptionally good at hitting a target right between the eyes. All your thrown weapons gain the Deadly Weapon quality for the duration of this Gift's activation.

Bone Gnawer Level Three Gifts

Level Three

Friend In Need
It takes a lot for a pack to accept a Bone Gnawer as an equal, but once they do, the Bone Gnawer’s loyalty is unshakable. This Gift allows a Bone Gnawer to risk all, even his own life, to aid a packmate or tribemate. A dog-spirit teaches this Gift.

Cost: 1 Willpower

Test Pool: N/A

System:
Spend a standard action to temporarily transfer some of your power to a willing Garou who is within one step of your location. This transference lasts for five minutes. You may end this power at any time by expending a simple action, thus potentially taking the ability away from the recipient before she can use it. Friend in Need cannot target humans, kinfolk, or supernatural creatures that are not Garou or Fera.

When you activate this Gift choose one of the following effects:
  • Share Gifts: Select one of your Gifts (other than Friend in Need) and target a recipient. For the duration of this power, you lose access to that Gift; your target can use that Gift as though she had purchased it. When necessary, the target must use her own resources, such as Gnosis, actions, etc., to use the Gift.
  • Share Gnosis: Select a number of your unspent points of Gnosis. You lose access to these Gnosis points; your target's Gnosis pool increases by the amount you lost. Gnosis loaned in this way can exceed the target's maximum Gnosis pool. When the recipient spends Gnosis points, the loaned Gnosis is always removed first, before the target spends any of her inherent Gnosis. When Friend in Need expires, any loaned Gnosis that the target did not spend returns to you, and your Gnosis pool returns to its normal maximum.
  • Share Health Levels: Select a number of your Health Levels that are not currently damaged. You lose access to these health levels; your target's health levels increase by the amount you lost. You may not give away your last unmarked Health Level in this way.
Loaned health levels are always marked off before marking off a target's standard health levels. If you loan 1 or more health levels to an individual who is currently unconscious, the target immediately regains consciousness. If any of your loaned health levels are damaged when this power ends, they remain damaged, with the same type of damage, when they return to you.
No character can receive benefits from more than one application of Friend in Need at a time. If a character is a willing target of a second application of Friend in Need before the first application expires, the older application immediately ends.

Affinity:
When you activate Friend in Need, you may choose to utilize two of the listed effects instead of just one.

Laugh of the Hyena
Hyena follows no one; instead, he laughs and mocks anyone who tries to command him. In the same fashion, a Garou who can actually convince a Hyena-spirit to teach him such defiance can steal the spirit’s mocking laughter. The Garou can learn to resist any attempt to command, cajole, force, or demand him to do something he doesn’t want to do. This is never subtle. The Garou (and the player) must cackle like a hyena-spirit when calling upon this Gift.

Cost: N/A

Test Pool: N/A

System:
This Gift is always active. When you make use of your General Retest to resist a Mental or Social power that attempts to change your behavior or influence your emotions, you gain a +3 bonus to your defensive test pool for that retest attempt. Still, you must cackle with laughter upon success.

Affinity:
Should you have additional retests for whatever reason for resisting such effects, you gain the bonus of this Gift on all retests, not just the general.

Reshape Object
The werewolf can shape once-living material (but not undead!) into a variety of objects instantly. Trees may become shelter, buck antlers become spears, animal hides become armor, and flowers become perfumes. The item will resemble the object from which it was shaped (e.g., the aforementioned spear is made of antler, not wood). A Pattern Spider — one of the Weaver’s spirits — teaches this Gift.

Cost: 1 Gnosis

Test Pool: N/A

System:
Spend a standard action to reshape a viable target into another object of your choosing. The object gains up to two equipment tags as appropriate for the item type. Weapons, armor, shields, and most any other item the Gnawer can think of can be made with this Gift. The item once shaped maintains this form for 1 hour per Gnosis spent (the first hour does not require additional Gnosis expenditure).

Affinity:
Gnawers make use of this Gift to survive, and often find that making something faster and sloppier is better than longer and better. You can change the activation time of this Gift to a simple action, but the item conjured in this way may only have one tag as appropriate for the item type made.

Bone Gnawer Level Four Gifts

Level Four

Attunement
The Garou may commune with the spirits of a city or town and gain information about the area from them, including rough population, enclaves of Garou or other being and secret tunnels. This Gift does not function in the wilderness, since the Bone Gnawers have lost the knack for conversing with such spirits easily. A rat-spirit teaches this Gift.

Cost: 1 Gnosis

Test Pool: None

System:
To activate this Gift, the Garou spends one point of Gnosis learning of the immediate area (within 1 mile). The Garou immediately becomes aware of a number of facts about the nearby area equal to their dots in Streetwise. This Gift only functions within a city or town or some other similar human made settlement. These facts are left to ST discretion but typically will involve important landmarks, unusual areas, or possible dangers. You are roughly aware of the location of these facts and can travel to them, or avoid them, with little difficulty.

Affinity:
Once a session when activating this Gift, you may ask a number of follow up questions about one of the facts equal to your dots of Intelligence. These questions are answered to the best of knowledge of the spirits who likely cannot say a particular person's name or the like - but could tell you if the hovel that will keep you dry is also where a mystery cult meets to practice their rituals.

Trust Me
A Bone Gnawer with this Gift can tell an outrageous lie so well that ordinary humans accept it as truth. The story must at least be vaguely possible and end with the words: “Trust me.” Now once that tale is out there, it's up to the people that heard it to determine what to do, but they have heard a new truth. An avatar of Rat teaches this Gift.

Cost: N/A

Test Pool: N/A

System:
Once a session, spend at least 5 minutes telling ordinary humans an outrageous lie that is at least somewhat possible and end it with the words "trust me." (e.g you could tell a group of Athenian Nobles that someone in the room is a Persian spy sent to kill them; however, you could not tell a person standing outside that the sun has just gone out) Ordinary humans automatically believe the Bone Gnawer’s tale. This Gift does not work on supernatural creatures or animals. If the characters told this lie find irrefutable proof that contests the lie the Gift loses it's grip on them and they are able to believe the truth again. One last benefit of this Gift: unless you want your victims to remember you, they will be unable to recall who told them the lie, even if they should find proof to disprove it.

Affinity:
After the first use of this power, you make make additional uses of this power in the same session up to a maximum of your Rank additional times. Each additional use of this Gift costs 1 Willpower.

Bone Gnawer Level Five Gifts

Level Five

Gluttony
The Bone Gnawer can open his jaws far wider than is normally physically possible, and can swallow things or beings whole. A werewolf with this Gift is even capable of gulping down an entire boar, or a whole pack of Fera, only to regurgitate the creatures later. This Gift is taught by a whale-spirit.

Cost: N/A

Test Pool: Stamina + Primal-Urge versus the target's Physical Defense (this attack cannot be parried or soaked)

System:
Spend a standard action and engage up to three targets within two steps of you and each other in this Gift's contested challenge. In the case of a very large being or object, the target of this Gift gains a +1 bonus on their defense test for every Health Level the target possesses beyond seven, or for every extra three feet in size over the Bone Gnawer (obviously, Crinos form is best for this Gift). The maximum size object that can be swallowed by a Garou using this Gift is something twice their size, anything bigger than that is immune this Gift.

If successful, the target is swallowed, swallowed objects/beings wind up in the Umbra, in a subrealm that is a mystical “stomach” of the glutton. The Garou can belch these objects out later. The werewolf can store objects in this mystical stomach for a number of hours equal to his Stamina; after this time, the Garou automatically regurgitates them hack into the physical world. The objects appear next to the Garou, and are unharmed.

Affinity:
Normally this Gift is used to imprison; however, when fighting massive creatures it can be useful to bite off parts of it. Upon succeeding with a bite attack against a creature at least double your size, you may spend a point of Rage to activate this Gift. This makes the bite attack inflict aggravated damage, as well as causing it to deal 2 additional points of damage.

Survivor
The world is difficult and often corrupt. If you let it, it will beat you into the ground. Real Bone Gnawers climb back to their feet, look the world in the eye, and ask, "Is that all you've got?" When the pressure's on, you refuse to accept defeat. You quickly recover from devastating attacks that would stagger others. Stone-elementals teach this Gift.

Cost: N/A

Test Pool: N/A

System:
This Gift is always active. Once per turn when using your general retest to retest a challenge related to an incoming attack that would cause you to suffer damage, you gain a +3 bonus on that retest. In addition you immediately heal 3 points of damage (bashing or lethal, but not aggravated).

Affinity:
The damage healed by this Gift can now be bashing, lethal, or aggravated.
